Happy Thanksgiving from a couple of turkeys. I hope your day was as tasty as ours!

Today I realized that I hadn’t put any photos into the gallery since February. No more lazy! I popped in some apple-picking pics, a few shots from my latest trip to Brussels and some photos from my 11 hour trip Seattle adventure this past weekend.

Yes, I pulled a crazy. I needed ~5k flight miles on Northwest to hit Gold Elite for next year and I was able to find a great price out to Seattle. I left at 6a, flew to Detroit & was able to stand by for an earlier flight so I arrived in Seattle a bit before noon. Elias picked me up, we spent the day together (boats, locks, yarn, tea, beach) and I flew back at 10:30. Arrived in Detroit at 5:30a, had some coffee and flew back to HPN. Home by noon. Not bad for 30 hours.

These are golden, stolen days.

I was very productive this weekend. I raked the leaves in the front yard and the back yard, even though I have a blower I prefer to do it the old fashioned way. Jeremie and I went to the farmers market, likely for the last time until next spring, and I bought almost 8 pounds of apples. I opened all the mail, tidied up the house, got all the laundry done and baked for Pregiving. The chocolate mint brownies were a hit.

I hate being inside when it’s so nice out and I know that in a couple of days the weather will turn very, very cold and stay that way for many months.

gorgeous fall

After a whole month of rain, also known as October, November is off to a lovely start. The trees outside my window are a mash of gold, red and green. The sun is shining bright and it’s about 62F, making it hard to imagine that in just a few short weeks we will probably have snow and the endless grey skys of winter.

I’m off to the airport in a bit and my stomach is well aware of that fact. We’re heading to Brussels for a couple of days for a family birthday party and general hanging-out. I’m sure my suitcase will return heavy with chocolate.
